faith and charlotte 2

Faith and Charlotte teaching Ava online. We have been reading William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and here is Ava telling me some of her favourite characters, as Faith writes them down. You might be wondering why we are laughing - well, did you know there is a character in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' called Bottom?!

The young people at Lavender Walk have been experimenting with language this week for National Writing Day 2019. We played poetic devices noughts and crosses, metaphor mayhem, and created some beautiful and thought-provoking 'Blackout Poetry'. Anyone can create their own pieces by just playing with words!

'I love books’ t-shirts

Students made ‘I love books’ t-shirts and wrote theirr favourite quotes on the back. One pupil wrote a quote from Northern Lights by Philip Pullman: ‘The evening sky was awash with peach, apricot, cream: tender little ice cream clouds in a wide orange sky.’

Smile by Hadisa

It's always lovely to see our old students when they come back to visit us. Hadisa, who came to us originally via the charity Facing the World, came to see us on the afternoon of our Wigmore Hall music performance and she shared her moving poem with us called 'Smile'. Have a listen.
