As part of our 'Adventure' topic this term children in the primary classroom at Chelsea and Westminster have been learning about space.

This week pupils made rockets from paper and cardboard and wrote instructions for other children to follow. They then used Drama in literacy to turn their classroom into a rocket and undiscovered planet!

Children became astronauts and used control panels to operate the space rocket. They then followed the countdown 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...Lift Off and blasted into space!

 

 

 

Once they had landed children investigated their surroundings - can you see them zooming around in their space buggy?

Finally they returned to planet Earth and painted pictures of the planet they had discovered.
