The Green Class recently undertook a project about shrines with resident artist Shaun.

 

 

 

 

 

They began by researching the origins of shrine's and the different types through history, before creating their own. Katherine chose to base her shrine on Daisy, her guinea pig. Katherine began by sketching ideas of how she wanted it to look, drawing on research. She decided on a podium with steps and large banner. She made this using cardboard and gold paint, attaching the sign after designing it on the computer. Daisy, the centre of the shrine, was constructed using clay. Over several weeks, Katherine drew upon all her creative skills, to build up Daisy. She finished by painting her and adding a gloss to add to the finish. A glowing homage to Daisy!
