Students at Collingham had a bake sale to raise money to help some homeless people have a better Christmas. Our target was to raise £26.08 to give one homeless person access to the support that Crisis at Christmas provides.
We decided to do this because in the Green class we have been reading a novel by Robert Swindells called “Stone Cold”. This novel is about a boy called Link who faces the struggles of being homeless in London. Many people like Link have to go through hard times which cause them to end up without a home and we wanted to help them. The Green Group all got involved in making the cakes and biscuits and thanks to the generous support of parents/carers and staff we managed to raise £63.10. This means we can give 2 homeless people a better Christmas and put money towards someone else. Thanks everyone for your support!
