Students at Lavender Walk are working with musicians Matt, Helen and Gawain from City of London Sinfonia (CLS) in an online series of workshops responding to Bach’s music, exploring loops, repetition, and sequences using music technology, online links, and live instruments to create their own compositions.

Black History Month

Students at Lavender Walk have been celebrating Black History Month by researching the lives and achievements of Wendie Renard, Evelyn Dove, Florence Griffith Joyner, Stuart Hall, James Baldwin, and Paul Stephenson.

Marbling and Music Project

Students at Lavender Walk explored the possibilities of making music and marbling with artist Chloe Cooper and musician Jackie Walduck. We held an exhibition showing their artworks and listened to their music. Our next step is to print sections of the art to be displayed in GP and hospital waiting rooms in K&C, along with a QR code to hear the music. Meanwhile have a listen and look at their creations!

Making plastics and polymers

Young people at Lavender Walk along with our Community students learnt about plastics and polymers. We went on to make our own biodegradable plastics. We first used milk for the polymers then we tried using polymers from starch.

The Great Cake Bake

This week, students at Lavender Walk baked gorgeous gooey marshmallow and chocolate chip cookies, perfect cheesy cheese scones and decadent chocolate cake. They  are all natural bakers and very talented students!
