History

history.gifWe aim to foster a desire for enquiry and discovery through exploration of events, people's lives and change over a period of time in the past. Regular trips to museums, historic monuments, the local history library and mudlarking on the Thames foreshore all combine to develop enthusiasm for History. All pupils benefit from handling artefacts from our extensive collection, this gives them the chance to examine and make hypotheses about primary source material. Older pupils are supported in their study by access to our library, which includes a good range of textbooks, and by the Internet.
