We are all sorry to say farewell to Dr Max Denning who is stepping down as Chair of Governors. Max has been a huge support to us and we would like to thank him for his tireless work for our school. David Mytton will now be the interim chair, and Ben Marshall will assume the vice-chair role. See below for a message from Max, and we wish him all the very best for the future.

Reflecting on the almost 2 years I have spent of chair, I am amazed at what the school has achieved. Celebrating 30 years, achieving yet another outstanding Ofsted, opening Lavendar walk. But without a doubt, the thing I am most proud of, is how the school has responded to the most recent crisis. When Covid-19 caused the rest of the world to stop in its tracks, the team at CCHS marched on. The team adapted to a new way of doing things: teaching online, socially distant lessons, use of PPE etc. The teams courage, dedication, and commitment to the students has been quite simply, incredible. At CCHS, we are privileged to have the opportunity to make a difference for some of the most vulnerable children in our society. This comes with a significant responsibility, which I feel the school has fulfilled admirably. The teachers, learning mentors, learning assistants, student support, artists, IT, admin team, SMT and volunteers, have all contributed in what has been an amazing team effort in difficult circumstances to maintain access to education and a sense of normality for students. For everyone, putting the welfare of these children and young adults has clearly been the most important thing. I hope that everyone is staying safe and that half term provides an opportunity to reflect on just what an amazing job everyone has done.
